Marriage - Gay, Straight, Or Between a Man and His Goat

So, people have been asking me about my views on this whole Prop 8 thing, and I've tried to stay out of it, but now it's just getting ridiculous.

I support gay marriage. Hell, if a guy wanted to marry his goat, I would tell him to go for it. I am not a fan of marriage in general, I see it as an unnecessary cost in an already to expensive world, but others see it as some awesome "next step" in their relationships, and I respect that.

But...

Is a marriage certificate necessary to prove your love, faithfulness, and dedication to your partner? Not really.

If you're with someone who is offering you an ultimatum(like "marry me now or I will marry that guy in the speedo"), you should really not be in that relationship. Also, if you don't believe in God, you shouldn't be getting married. It's a religious practice. It would be like a Christian celebrating Hanuka, or a Jew celebrating Christmas. It makes no sense.

And this thing with Gay Marriage becoming a political issue? Retarded. Has anyone here heard of the separation between church and state? Apparently not. Marriage=Religious, Voting on an Issue=Political. Prop 8=Blurring of important lines.

Let's just give people in civil unions the same package as people getting married(all the legal trappings, etc), and be done with it, okay?

Okay!
